Brass Noir's First Concert - Tremendous Success

Following much anticipation, Brass Noir's first official concert took place at St' Chad's social club in Wheelton on the 9th December. That band played to a capacity audience and despite being unable to rehearse the previous week, due to the inclement weather, the concert was well and truly a resounding success.  The band played a variety of pieces including the first performance of 'Vive Le Brass Noir' a new commission by James Mcfaidin which was appreciated by the audience. There were many positive comments from the Club and the ensemble has been invited back in the future. In fact the band were that well received that the club doubled the fee!

First Noir Gig a Fantastic Event

On the Sunday of 19th October, the first Brass Noir Gig was held at the Halloween party weekend for M Party at Matalan, Bamber Bridge, Preston. This was the first time the ensemble had played together and without doubt it was a great success. Players converged from all over the county to provide happy party style music for the shopper who were attending the M Party Promotion.

Speaking about the band, M Party manager, Roxanne North said, 'They were fantastic, the shoppers were obviously really enjoying the music, the spectacle and the entertainment. It's a credit to the musicians involved that the performance was so polished. Also, all the band seemed to be having a really good time, which was reflected in their playing and the audiences enjoyment. We want them back for Christmas - they were great!'

The ensembles secretary, Jim Owen, commented ' this was a fantastic start to something great. The ensemble was tight, disciplined  and provided music and entertainment of a high quality. We had a lot of interest from the public, handed out many flyer and hopefully we'll get some more jobs from those who were listening. Vive Le Noir!'

Launch Noir a Great Success

Following much publicity in the Local area the Brass Noir Launch party was hailed as a great Success.

Speaking about the Launch, Secretary 'Suicide' Jim Owen said:-'Had a brilliant time last night, and although it seemed as though there were only a few attending at first, in true brass band style they all turned up late and and the event went better than expected with more than enough players ready to commit to this new and exiting adventure. Those players who could not get there due to "British Open" being on the same day were still committed and their names have also been added to a VERY long list of potential Noirites.
